Nitrox (IANTD, TDI )

Enriched Air Nitrox, known as Nitrox is any gas mixture of oxygen and air with more than 21% oxygen. It is used to maximise no-decompression time and/or minimise decompression, however, each gas has it's own depth limit and any nitrox mixture needs to be monitored to avoid oxygen toxicity.

PADI TecRec Discover Tec £75/£120 for two: (1/2 day). If you are curious about Technical Diving but not sure whether it's for you why not book a Discover Tec experience. We will provide all the specialist gear (complete twinset set up and stage cylinder) which you will have the opportunity to try out in shallow water at an inland dive site such as Vobster Quay.

PADI TecRec Tec 40 £350: (2/3 days). Tec 40 introduces you to the concepts of technical diving. This course can be completed in either modified single cylinder equipment or on a twinset or on side-mount if you are already a side-mount diver. You will be qualified to make decompression dives (max 15mins) to 40m.

IANTD Advanced Nitrox Diver £295: (4 days). For most divers the stepping stone to more technical diving. This course aims for continual improvement of dive technique; buoyancy control, body position and use of fins, advanced air sharing drills and ascents, planning and carrying out limited decompression dives and equipment configuration and management including use of a redundant gas source as well as a stage cylinder with decompression gas.  Qualifies you to dive 42m using nitrox up to 100% O2 for up to 15 mins decompression. 

Equipment Setup - Twinset and stage cylinder

Pre-requisite - Qualified to dive to 40m, Nitrox diver, min 50 logged dives inc at least 2 in a twinset

TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures £400 (4 days). This course covers the  theory, practical exercises and skill development to make decompression dives to 45m using a twinset and decompression cylinder.

PADI TecRec Tec 45 £350: (2/3 days). Tec 45 builds on the basics introduced at Tec 40 level; diving in full technical equipment, planning decompression dives using up to 100% O2 for decompression. This course can be completed in either  twin back mounted or side-mounted cylinders if you are already a side-mount diver. Divers carry a stage cylinder for decompression. You will be qualified to make decompression dives (max 15mins) to 45m and use any nitrox mix.

PADI TecRec Tec 50 £350: (2/3 days). Tec 50 is an extended range program utilising more than one decompression cylinder to maximise decompression efficiency.  This course can be completed in either  twin back mounted or side-mounted cylinders if you are already a side-mount diver. Divers carry at least two stage cylinder for decompression during later dives. You will be qualified to make decompression dives  to 5om and use any nitrox mix. Optional; the final dive can be completed on trimix.  This won'tqualify you to dive trimix but is a taster of the next step. Please ask Martin for more details.

IANTD Nitrox Gas Blender £125: Learn how to blend Nitrox using the partial pressure method of blending. 1 day of theory and blending practice will enable to you to blend your own gas at self-fill facilities.
