The plan was to run a PADI Tec 40 CCR Diver course and a PADI Tec 40 CCR Instructor course for the Poseidon Se7en. I also found some time to throw in an impromptu Tec Sidemount Diver and Tec Sidemount Instructor course too, but more on that later.
Having arrived in Nagoya I was met by Nobuyuki and we drove from the airport in to the city for something to eat and to meet some of his dive centre staff. The meal was fantastic. I have always like Japanese food, but to have the real thing was an absolute treat. As well as familiar dishes, there were new and unusual things to try. Everything was fresh and tasty - I was already looking forward to the dinners as much as the diving. Nobu's dive centre and staff were quick to welcome me and I soon felt at home.
The next morning we drove to Osezaki in Shizuoka Prefecture, checked in to our accommodation and then got straight in to the course programme reviewing Knowledge Reviews.
After the fabulous meal the previous evening the amazing food continued on our first night at the Hamayuu dive centre and throughout the trip.
Each dive centre has it's own kit washing areas and ours even had a huge 'bath' which easily held 6 divers wanting to wash their wetsuits and themselves in fresh water.
I do hope I get the opportunity to go back.
